Permissions and sound

The app asks for very little and tells you why. Without notifications, work won’t ring on your phone; without the camera, you type codes by hand.

The three permissions

The first time, the app shows you «Para trabajar, la app te pide estos permisos» (“To work, the app needs these permissions”):

PermissionWhat it’s forRequired?
Avisos de trabajo (Work alerts)Without it, your phone won’t ring when an order is assigned to you, and after 60 seconds it goes to a teammate.Yes
Ubicación aproximada (Approximate location)To know you’re at the store during your shift. Only your general area.Yes
Cámara (Camera)It’s the scanner and the ID card reader.Optional

Tap the button for each one: Permitir los avisos (Allow alerts), Permitir la ubicación (Allow location), Permitir la cámara (Allow camera). When it’s done, it says «Listo, ya lo tienes.» (“Done, you’re all set.”)

If you don’t want to use the camera, tap Seguir sin la cámara (Continue without the camera). You’ll type codes and dates by hand.

Your location

What the app says

«La ubicación se usa solo mientras tu turno está encendido, siempre aproximada, y lo guardado se borra a los 30 días. Con la app cerrada o fuera de turno no se mira dónde estás.» (“Location is used only while your shift is on, always approximate, and anything saved is deleted after 30 days. With the app closed or when you’re off shift, nobody looks at where you are.”)

For home delivery, the map needs your precise location, and only while you have a stop open.

Calls over the lock screen

You may see «La llamada no va a tapar la pantalla» (“Calls won’t cover the screen”). Without this permission the call still rings, but you have to unlock your phone to see it. Tap Dar el permiso (Grant permission).

Make sure your phone rings

The check-in screen with an amber warning at the top: «Tu teléfono está en silencio» (Your phone is on silent), with the «Abrir el sonido del teléfono» (Open phone sound settings) button.
If something keeps your phone from ringing, the warning shows up at the top, in amber.

Before and during your shift, the app checks that your phone can ring. If something is wrong, a warning appears at the top with a button to fix it:

WarningButton
«Tu teléfono está en silencio» (“Your phone is on silent”)Abrir el sonido del teléfono (Open phone sound settings)
«Tu teléfono solo vibra» (“Your phone only vibrates”)Abrir el sonido del teléfono (Open phone sound settings)
«Tienes No Molestar prendido» (“Do Not Disturb is on”)Abrir No Molestar (Open Do Not Disturb)
«Tu teléfono no te va a avisar» (“Your phone won’t alert you”)Activar las notificaciones (Turn on notifications)
«Las llamadas están silenciadas» (“Calls are muted”)Activar el aviso de llamadas (Turn on call alerts)

The bell at the top warns you too: with a red dot it tells you «Tu teléfono no va a sonar» (“Your phone won’t ring”).

Heads up

If you turn off the app’s notifications, the system may not let you start your shift. The message appears on screen, word for word.

It worked if…

There’s no amber warning at the top. To be sure, make a test call.

If you said “no” to a permission

Your phone won’t ask again. Tap Abrir los ajustes de la app (Open app settings), grant it and come back: the app picks up on its own. If settings don’t open, go to Settings › Apps › Zentrix Work › Permissions.
