Going on duty
After your PIN, if you’re off duty, the app asks «¿Empiezas a trabajar?» (“Starting work?”).
- Tap the big button.
It says «Toca aquí para encenderte» (“Tap here to go on duty”). It turns green and the top of the screen shows «Encendido» (“On duty”) with the time: «Desde las …» (“Since …”).
- Tap «Volver a Hoy» (Back to Today).
You’re ready to work.
Next to the switch you can see whether Odoo already knows: ✓ saved on the phone, ✓✓ received by Odoo. You can go on duty without a signal too: it’s sent when the signal returns.
If other guards are on duty on this same phone, their initials appear under the button.
Nobody assigns you hours in the app. On duty means “I’m working at this gate.” The screen says so at the bottom: «Encendido no es registro de jornada: se guardan la hora de encenderte, la de tu última acción y la de apagarte.» (“On duty is not a timesheet: it stores the time you went on duty, the time of your last action and the time you went off duty.”)
If you’re off duty on Today
The top of Hoy (Today) shows the «Estás apagado» (“You’re off duty”) banner with the Encender (Go on duty) button. Tap it to get to the big button.
If you start checking a truck while you’re off duty and Odoo requires you to be on duty, the app puts you on duty automatically.
Handing the phone to a coworker
If a coworker needs the phone for a while and you’re still working, don’t go off duty: lock it.
- Tap «Más» (More) and then «Bloquear» (Lock).
The app says «Bloqueado. Sigues encendido.» (“Locked. You’re still on duty.”)
- Your coworker taps their name and enters their PIN.
When you come back, tap your name, enter your PIN and you pick up on the screen where you left off.
Going off duty when you leave
- Tap «Más» (More) and then «Encendido» (On duty).
You see the big green button.
- Tap the button.
The «¿Te apagas?» (“Going off duty?”) sheet appears, with «Vuelves con tu PIN» (“You come back with your PIN”).
- Look at what you’re leaving pending.
If you have paused checks, half-finished paperwork-free entries or entries not yet sent, they show up there with a count. Anything not yet sent goes out automatically when there’s a signal, even after you go off duty.
- Tap «Apagarme» (Go off duty).
A tone plays and the app says «Te apagaste a las …» (“You went off duty at …”). The phone goes back to «Toca tu nombre» (“Tap your name”) for the next person.
On the same sheet, Bloquear (Lock) keeps you on duty and locks the phone, and Seguir (Continue) closes the sheet without changing anything.
To end your day, go off duty. Your name stays on the phone and tomorrow you sign in with your PIN. Signing out of this phone removes your name and asks for your password next time.
What happens if nobody uses it
- After a few minutes untouched, the phone locks. You’re still on duty. You come back with your PIN.
- If you go a long time without doing anything, the system may take you off duty on its own. What counts is what you do, not whether the phone is on. The administrator sees it as «Apagado automático» (“Automatic off duty”).
- If you go on duty on another phone, you’re taken off duty on the first one. A person can be on duty on only one phone at a time.
- The office can take you off duty. It’s logged as «Apagado por el administrador» (“Taken off duty by the administrator”).
If you were taken off duty and need to keep working, go on duty again and carry on.
